Another Smart Way in... Powering Student Life... One
Click at a Time
Santa
Monica, CA – October 31, 2006 - School-Link
Technologies (SL-Tech), the school food service
industry’s recognized leader, announced today the
official release of a variety of new parent tools
for its online prepayment system, myLunchMoney.com.
myLunchMoney.com was introduced nearly 5 years ago
as the first fully integrated online prepayment
system. The system immediately allowed parents to
say goodbye to sending cash and checks to the school
cafeteria. In a secure environment, parents are able
to prepay student meals using their credit or debit
card. On an ongoing basis, parents are able to view
current balances and setup recurring payments when
the account reaches a low balance threshold.
With its most recent update, myLunchMoney.com has
transitioned from online prepayment service to web
portal and parent tool. myLunchMoney.com is now
positioned to help facilitate everyday activities
parents typically must make at the school site.
Parents will be able to immediately view student
meal purchases, set weekly or monthly spending
limits, and limit a la carte purchases.
myLunchMoney.com also provides districts with a
direct link to keep parents abreast of student
activities through student spending history reports.
This type of power and detail is unmatched in the
industry.
The service has had positive impacts in School
Districts throughout the nation. An official at
Chesterfield County Schools commented,
“myLunchMoney.com has really responded to parent
feedback and given them exactly what they want. The
marketing is fun for the kids, the site parent
friendly, and my IT department loves the secure
architecture. As for myself, I finally have an
immediate outlet to communicate menus, bulletins, or
other important information to parents.
Participation has been better than expected to this
point, but with the new features, I imagine almost
everyone will be using the service.”
myLunchMoney.com will soon operate beyond the
lunchroom through seamless integration with other
district applications, including the library and
school business office. This is great news for
parents across the country. A parent from Austin
Independent School District states, “I enjoy being
able to review meal decisions with my child and look
forward to using myLunchMoney for all of our school
purchases. The service has been around for a few
years and seems to get better every year. Who knows
what they will come up with next?”
